History of Lao Airports Authority
Before 2008: Before 6 May 2008, Lao Airports Authority operated as two operators as Airport and Navigation Service provider belong to Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) directly. After 2008: After 6 May 2008, Lao Airports Authority was separated to be Lao Airports Authority and Lao Air traffic Management are belong to Ministry of Public Works and Transport and operated under DCA regulation.

Watery International Airport Safety and Security Policy
Our organization is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment free of all recognized hazards for its employees and customers. 1. The policing authority at international and domestic airports in Lao PDR is vested in the Department of Public Security is responsible for the provision of police functions and activities in Lao PDR to protect civil aviation against acts of unlawful interference.
2. Specific responsibilities of the Department of Public Security in the area of aviation security are as follows:
- Prevention and detection of crime at aviation facilities;
- Surveillance of arriving and departing passenger for persons who may pose a threat to civil aviation; and
- Contingency planning with relevant agencies for response to and control of acts of hijacking, sabotage, bomb or other threats, ground attacks, civil disorder and natural disaster.
