Kansai International Airport (IATA: KIX, ICAO: RJBB)
is Japan’s first full-scale offshore airport 2artificial islands to preserve natural environment, 5km (3mi) off the coast in the Osaka Bay. As a world-class, 24-hour airport, KIX has become a key driver of the air transport of both passengers and cargo with multiple 4,000 meter class runways in Japan.
Osaka International Airport (IATA: ITM, ICAO: RJOO)
is located near the center of the Kyoto-Osaka-Kobe area, and just 12 kilometres from downtown Osaka, ITM coexists with the local community as a convenient urban airport.
A new low – cost international terminal is under construction near the existing low-cost terminal (Terminal 2) and is scheduled to open in the second half of fiscal year 2016. With 11 aircraft parking stands and a 36,000 square meter total floor area, the new terminal will increase the capacity of the two low-cost terminals to 8million passengers a year.
Osaka International Airport terminal modification project is proceeding, which aims more convenient and more comfortable for passengers.
The airport will be a Speedy & Smart Urban Advanced airport with excellent convenience for passengers as a gateway of the sky to Kansai region in the spring of 2020.
